Thoughts...

It only took FOUR WHOLE months, but Greg and I finally sold my furniture online using Craigslist.
My experience with craigslist has always been positive, but this is the first time I was trying to sell a bigger ticket item and needed to get a certain amount of money for it.
When I got the job I have now in June 2005, I went out and purchased brand new furniture. It was my first new furniture purchase. I was able to put my old stuff from SECOND GRADE in the basement. I purchased furniture that matched my budget and style and current colors in the house. What I didn't purchase furniture for was owning black cats and having children...
We inherited some black leather furniture from Greg's grandmother when Greg's sister moved out of her home. That was distributed through the house, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew we had to sell the white, modern, microfiber, retro furniture and go with a safe - easy to clean - black leather we already owned.
So, in March I listed the furniture and atleast twice a week I relisted that damn furniture. People low balled me on price or would make appointments to show up and never did. I was getting frustrated but knew I couldn't give up. Finally last week a young woman contacted me. I tried not to get my hopes up given our past experience with people.
Well, she scheduled a date for her boyfriend and another guy to come by and they actually showed up! I only lowered my price $100 which is fine if it meant getting rid of it!
So, now we have a lot more room for our child to play and grow... and black leather furniture for it to spit up on :)
